I've been photographing since I was about 15 years old. My earliest inspiration came from the many great photojournalists of the 1940s and fifties and sixties, whose work I would see in Time and in Life magazines, among others. Their work presented a world that I wanted to know and be a part of.

I don’t ascribe any particular purpose or ‘mission’ to my work. Every artist is moved by the desire to make something beautiful - something that might reveal a deeper truth and meaning behind what simply presents itself to us, and something that can help us to make better sense of ourselves, our environment and what it means to be in this world.
